Chef & GM
Stephen Rogers, former classical pianist and vocal coach, and his wife, Allison Yoder, former opera singer, bring to their roles as Executive Chef and General Manager, respectively, at PRESS.
Stephen was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and after college toured around the globe. When his performing stints in the various corners of Europe would end, Stephen would return back home to the various restaurants of New York City where he worked in a variety of positions. His true calling, however, was in the kitchen, and here at PRESS Restaurant he has truly hit his stride.
Allison’s appreciation for food began in childhood. “I had the pleasure of growing up on a dairy farm in rural Pennsylvania. My mother prepared our meals from the freshest produce grown in the garden.” Allison took her first restaurant job at the age of fifteen and after earning a Bachelor’s degree in music, she moved to New York to pursue a career as an opera singer. Her travels took her to Europe, where she fell in love with world cuisine and the wines that accompany it and decided to commit her irrepressible energy to the hospitality business. Allison comes to PRESS Restaurant from Miami where she worked at the popular South Beach steakhouse Prime 112. She has also worked at Fresco By Scotto, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse and with celebrity chef Larry Forgione at An American Place in New York City.
