The wine list at PRESS showcases Napa Valley, including some rare, cult wines, older vintages as well as small, locally known producers. “When I travel to Bordeaux, the restaurants serve Bordeaux, in Burgundy, they serve Burgundy,” says Rudd. “Napa Valley is where folks come to sample our terroir-based wines.” Committed to supporting his local vintners, guests will find many well-known Napa labels as well as the smaller producers and newcomers to the wine world that are difficult to find outside the Napa Valley. The wine list, which includes a well-chosen selection of by-the-glass offerings, was designed to complement PRESS’s seasonal menu and will continue to evolve so with each visit, new finds may appear to entice the adventuresome taster to try a wine they’ve never had before.

All wines are served in elegant Reidel stemware appropriate for the varietal selected and of course, will be decanted when it will enhance their enjoyment. The wait staff at PRESS is comprised of Napa Valley veterans who are well versed on the restaurant’s wine selection.

Wine storage takes center stage behind the bar with custom wood cabinetry designed and hand built by the two Master Carpenters Rudd has on staff. There are four black walnut cabinets that each contains 3 columns holding 14 wine drawers each. The drawers hold 6 bottles each, with the front label of the first bottle visible through the glass doors of the cabinet. There are a total of 12 vertical columns, so the temperature-controlled unit holds 1,008 bottles of red wine at a consistent 55-58 degrees Fahrenheit. Sparking and white wines are stored in separate refrigerated-units behind the bar to maintain their optimal serving temperatures.

In addition to an exciting wine program, PRESS offers a full array of premium spirits and signature cocktails, so whether coming in to dine, or stopping at the beautifully appointed bar to enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine, PRESS is the perfect spot to end a day in the wine country while watching the sun set behind the Mayacamas.
